Western United kick off their season in style

Western United have made the perfect start to their Ninja A-League Women with a 4-2 win over Wellington Phoenix on Friday night at Ironbark Fields. A dominant first half performance sent Western well on their way to victory thanks to goals from Chloe Logarzo, Aimww Medwin, Kahli and Catherine Zimmerman. Despite a late penalty to the visiting side, Western held on to claim all three points.

Aukland reign supreme in inaugural New Zealand Derby

Auckland FC have headed back home with all three points after a statement 2-0 victory over rivals Wellington Phoenix on Saturday afternoon in the inaugural  New Zealand Derby. In front of more than 26,000 fans at Sky Stadium, it was Auckland attacker Jake Brimmer who broke the deadlock in the 89th minute after capitalising on an error at the back by Wellington. Primmer struck again in injury time to ensure the win, leaving the competition newcomers in first place on the ladder.

Victory come from behind to topple Reds in thriller

A standout performance from forward Emily Gielnik has proved the difference for Melbourne Victory who took  all three points on the road in their 3-2 Original Rivalry win over Adelaide United on Saturday. The Commbank Matilda’s attacker’s first half double brought her side back level twice before Ava Briedis’ 92nd minute strike dramatically secured the win for the Victory.

Adelaide Hold on in seven goal thriller

It was Adelaide United who managed to hold off a late Western Sydney Wanderers surge to claim a big 4-3 win at Commbank Stadium on Saturday night. A double to former Wanderer, Dylan Pierias was complemented by finishes from Luka Jovanovic and Austin Ayoubi as the Reds registered their first win of the season sending them up to fourth place on the Isuzu UTE A-League ladder.

City Fly out off the gates to claim statement win

2023/24 Ninja A-League Women Premiers Melbourne City have kicked started their season with a statement 5-2 win over Perth Glory at Crtl: Cyber pitch on Sunday afternoon. A pair of doubles to Rhianna Pollicina and Kathryn Harvey, along with a late finish to Laura Hughes saw City run away with the 3 points, sending a strong message to their rivals that they mean business in season 2024/25.
