ADELAIDE TOO STRONG FOR THE CHAMPIONS ON THE ROAD 

 

Adelaide United has continued their unbeaten start to the Isuzu UTE A-League Men season after an emphatic 4-0 win over Central Coast Mariners at Industree Group Stadium on Friday evening. Red’s youngster Archie Goodwin kicked off the big night with a 12th minute strike to send his side to the break in front. Following half time, goals to Panagiotis Kikianis, Stefan Mauk and Yaya Dukuly sealed the three points for Carl Veart’s, men.

 

SAVESKA STARS AT WANDERERS WIN BIG AT HOME

After a tough start to their campaign, Western Sydney Wanderers have recorded their first win of the Liberty A-League Women season with 5-1 win over Western United at Commbank Stadium on Saturday. An incredible first half-hattrick form Wanderers’ Sienna Saveska, which included an Olimpico from the corner and a thunderbolt from a range, sent her side well on the way who sealed the points thanks to finishes from Cushla Rue and Danika Matos.

 

JETS END WINLESS RUN IN THE WEST 

The Newcastle Jets are back in the winner’s circle after a 4-0 victory over Perth Glory at HBF Park on Saturday night. After four consecutive losses in a row, Rob Stanton’s men blew away their opposition thanks to goals from Thomas Aquilina, Lachlan Bayliss and a pair of finishes from youngster Ben Gibson. The return to winning ways sees the Jets climb to eleventh on the Isuzu UTE A-League Men ladder, with Perth remaining in 13th place.

WESTERN STUN SYDNEY FC IN SEVEN-GOAL THRILLER 

Western United have climbed to eighth on the Isuzu UTE A-League Men ladder after a 4-3 win over Sydney FC at Allianz Stadium on Saturday night. After both sides went back and forth throughout the contest with three goals a piece, they looked set to share the points, before Michael Ruhs snatched the victory for Western with his 87th minute strike. The win for John Aloisi’s side now leaves them just one point outside of the top six places.

STOIC JETS DIG DEEP TO RECORD LAST GASP VICTORY 

 

Newcastle Jets have recorded one of the team performances of the season after a 2-1 win over defending champions Sydney FC. The Jets couldn’t have gotten off to a tougher start after custodian Danielle Krzyzaniak received a red card just 12 minutes into the contest, with the Sky Blues making them pay thanks to a first half strike from Indiana Dos Stantos. With their backs against the wall and Sydney banging on the door, Ryan Campbell’s side dug extremely deep to find an 86th minute equaliser thanks to Deven Jackson, before Lauren Allan’s wonderful effort stole all three points in the 95th minute.
