“Turn Cricket Pink. Bring Your Community Together. Make a Difference.”
Local cricket, community spirit and a cause worth supporting – it’s time to turn cricket pink!
Ozsports Radio is calling on local cricket players, former players, social cricketers and community-minded sports lovers to register their interest in taking part in a special Pink Cricket Day in support of the McGrath Foundation.
The aim is simple: bring people together through cricket, form two teams and organise a fun, community-focused match day that raises funds and awareness for the important work of the McGrath Foundation.
Why Pink Cricket Day?
Inspired by the famous Sydney Cricket Pink Test, established in memory of Jane McGrath, Pink Cricket Day brings the spirit of the campaign into local communities.
Cricket clubs, schools and community groups can play their part by turning an ordinary match day into an opportunity to make a difference.
We’re Looking for Players!
Expressions of interest are now open for players interested in joining one of our two proposed teams.
Whether you’ve played competitive cricket for years, haven’t picked up a bat in a while, or simply want to be part of a great community initiative, we’d love to hear from you.
- Current and former club cricketers.
- Social and recreational players.
- People of all abilities interested in getting involved.
- Supporters who want to help make the day a success.
The focus will be on participation, enjoyment, community connection and supporting a worthwhile cause.
How Can Local Cricket Clubs Get Involved?
We’re also encouraging local cricket clubs, schools, businesses and community organisations to express their interest in supporting Pink Cricket Day.
There may be opportunities to recruit players, provide equipment or facilities, contribute prizes, assist with fundraising or promotes the event throughout the community.
Help Us Get Pink Cricket Day Off the Ground
The first step is getting people involved. Once we have expressions of interest from players and supporters, we can work towards confirming the match format, date, venue and fundraising activities.
Interested in playing or supporting the event? Contact Ozsports Radio via our email at mrdarrenandrews@ozsportsonline.com or via our social media channels to register your interest.
Share this article with your cricket club, teammates, friends and family. Together we can bring our community onto the cricket field for a day that combines the love of sport with support for an important cause.
