About Sidelines Sports Show
Sidelines Sports Show is Ozsports Radio’s afternoon drive-time sports program, bringing listeners the latest sporting news, opinions, interviews, analysis, debate and plenty of entertainment as they head home.
The show will cover a broad range of Australian and international sports, with a strong focus on giving sports fans a voice and creating engaging, entertaining radio.
We are looking for enthusiastic sports fans who want to be part of building an exciting new sports radio program.
The Role
As a Volunteer Presenter / Co-Host, you will work as part of the Sidelines team to help research, prepare and deliver an entertaining afternoon sports program.
You will contribute your own sporting knowledge, opinions and personality while working with other presenters and producers to create compelling radio.
Key Responsibilities
- Present and co-host live sports radio segments.
- Research sporting news, results, fixtures and developing stories.
- Participate in discussions, debates and sporting opinion segments.
- Conduct interviews with athletes, coaches, sports administrators, commentators and sporting personalities.
- Develop interesting and entertaining story ideas for the program.
- Assist with preparation of the show’s running sheet.
- Introduce and participate in regular program segments.
- Engage with listeners through social media and other audience interaction.
- Promote upcoming Ozsports Radio programs, features and initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with fellow presenters and the production team.
- Maintain a professional and positive attitude while representing Ozsports Radio.
What We’re Looking For
You don’t need professional radio experience to apply.
We’re looking for people who:
- Are passionate about sport.
- Have a strong personality and aren’t afraid to express an opinion.
- Are confident speaking on microphone.
- Can hold an engaging conversation.
- Enjoy debating sporting issues.
- Can think quickly and react to breaking sporting news.
- Have good general sporting knowledge.
- Are reliable and committed.
- Can work as part of a team.
- Are willing to research and prepare before each program.
- Are comfortable interacting with listeners and guests.
- Have a good sense of humour and understand what makes entertaining radio.
Previous radio, podcasting, broadcasting, journalism or media experience is an advantage, but is not essential.

Sidelines will have a broad sporting focus. Depending on the news cycle and program schedule, coverage may include:
- Rugby League
- AFL
- Soccer / Football
- Cricket
- Motorsport
- Tennis
- Basketball
- Baseball
- Golf
- Boxing & Combat Sports
- Esports
- Olympic & Paralympic Sports
- Local and South Australian sport
- Community sport
- Emerging sports
Presenters are also encouraged to bring their own sporting interests and specialist knowledge to the program.
The Ideal Presenter
The ideal Sidelines presenter is someone who can bring personality, passion and opinion to the microphone.
We’re looking for people who don’t simply want to read sports news — we want presenters who can talk sport, debate sport and make listeners want to join the conversation.
Time Commitment
Sidelines is an afternoon drive-time program, with presenters expected to:
- Attend scheduled broadcasts.
- Arrive prepared and ready for the program.
- Participate in pre-show planning and production meetings where required.
- Assist with research and content preparation.
- Promote the program through social media and audience engagement.
Specific broadcasting times and roster arrangements will be discussed with successful applicants.

This is a volunteer position with Ozsports Radio.
The position is unpaid; however, it provides practical broadcasting experience, exposure and the opportunity to become part of an expanding sports media platform.
