About Ozsports Radio
Ozsports Radio is an online sports radio platform passionate about bringing sporting stories, competitions and communities to a wider audience.
We are looking for enthusiastic female Australian rules football commentators to join our broadcasting team and help showcase the excitement, skill and talent of women’s football across South Australia.
As we explore opportunities to broadcast selected Aussie Rules Women’s matches during the 2027 season, we want to build a team of passionate voices who can bring the action to life for listeners.
About the role
As a female Aussie Rules commentator, you will help deliver engaging online audio coverage of women’s football matches, bringing listeners closer to the action with your knowledge, enthusiasm and personality.
You may work alongside an experienced commentator or other members of the Ozsports Radio broadcasting team. There will also be opportunities to contribute to pre-match previews, half-time analysis, post-match discussions and interviews with players, coaches and club representatives, subject to relevant approvals.
This is an opportunity to be part of a growing sports media platform, develop your broadcasting skills and help give women’s football a stronger voice.
Key responsibilities
- Provide live play-by-play commentary or special comments during selected matches.
- Describe the action clearly, accurately and enthusiastically for online listeners.
- Offer insights into tactics, player performances, team strategies and key moments.
- Research teams, players, fixtures and relevant football stories before each broadcast.
- Contribute to pre-match previews, half-time analysis and post-match reviews.
- Work collaboratively with fellow commentators and production personnel.
- Participate in interviews and other football content where appropriate.
- Promote upcoming broadcasts and women’s football through Ozsports Radio’s digital platforms.
- Represent Ozsports Radio professionally and respectfully.
About you
We are looking for women who are passionate about Australian rules football and excited about sharing that passion with an audience.
You may be an experienced broadcaster, a former or current player, a coach, an umpire, a devoted football supporter or someone looking to take their first steps into sports media.
You do not need previous radio experience to express your interest.

Knowledge of SANFLW clubs, players and competitions would be an advantage, but enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are equally welcome.

Volunteer position
This is a volunteer opportunity, not a paid position. The role is subject to match availability, scheduling and any necessary competition, venue and broadcast approvals.
The time commitment and practical arrangements, including travel, equipment and match-day requirements, will be discussed with successful applicants before they commence.
